Trip to Italy - Calm Ferrara, Day 6

Not that I was ever done with Day 5...

Day 6, 24 February, 2025

I call it a conclusive day. My one and only main goal was Castello Estense, the main sight of Ferrara. First, I went for a run, a much shorter one than on Saturday but I planned to go on the same route as then, just turning back halfway through it. On my way out, I made one change and instead of running a section along the walls of Ferrara, I changed the path over on to the other side of the road to the local urban park, Giorgio Bassani park. I decided to call it the local Városliget. Since today's training was really focused and filled with tempos, I spontaneously changed my mind and stayed there to discover it. A decision, I do not mind as it is a beautiful park filled with life and a small lake - used for hunting by the Estense family in the 15th century, for outdoor activities: running and dog walking at present, a lot less romantic, I know but I did not mind the absence of gunshots while out running. My legs not exactly being fresh, still worked well, actually much better than I expected, hitting good speed at the tempo section that really made my day. Last year, this preparation phase was filled with agony and questions marks - will I ever be as good as I used to be? I don't any longer know if so but I neither don't care. I have definitely improved and I am satisfied with where I am right now regarding my development. :)

I took the time in Castello Estense and walked really slow. I really enjoyed this process of not having to rush. I really enjoyed to just wonder around slowly and also a bit aimlessly. I let myself one more time breathe in and feel what this city had to offer and arrive. To my conclusion. Which is? I'll tell you in my next entry.
